Let the battle begin!

The Battle of the Baskets is our friendly competition between churches and small businesses who are ready to help kids from hard places. We are asking our enthusiastic competitors to fill a basket to donate to our silent auction for the Derby Ball.

Our generous competitors fill a basket with themed items collected with intention to stir donor interest. For example, one basket might be a Pacers Basket and contain a Pacer throw, two tickets to a Pacer game, two Pacer tumblers, and a gift certificate to a restaurant located near the Pacer’s Gainbridge Fieldhouse. Or it could be a hundred other things you might think of!! You don’t need to purchase all these items. You can use our provided sponsorship letter to solicit local business for donations or discounts and help them understand who we are and what we do.

The Derby Ball is Narrow Gate’s annual fundraiser. Our proceeds are collected from sponsorships, the live auction, as well as the silent auction. The silent auction is an exciting opportunity because people can participate by bidding even while not in attendance. Whichever basket gets the highest bid of the night, wins a trophy PLUS a team building experience at the ranch for up to 7 people from your staff, praise team, leadership, or whomever you choose. We have been told that it’s one of the best “team building experiences” in the area by a team of local bank executives who participated.

While the kids who come to the ranch will never know what the Battle of the Baskets is or how necessary the Derby Ball is for their classes at the ranch, We can attest to their experiences. We can confidently say that the hours that they spend at the ranch are a break from their chaos, peace in their storm, hope in their night seasons. God’s love is not only talked about, but shown. His love is experienced at Narrow Gate. Help us continue providing these opportunities to our at-risk youth FREE of charge.
