Narrow Gate exists because of Jesus and his mission. His mission is our mission.
He declared, "The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion— to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor. They will rebuild the ancient ruins and restore the places long devastated; they will renew the ruined cities that have been devastated for generations."
NGHR looks to help children know who can bind up their broken hearts, comfort them in their mourning, and set them free from the prisons they are in. We want to help them know who to go to in order to know how to rebuild ancient ruins and restore those devastated places.
Here’s what Ivy said,
"Narrow Gate helped me build my self-confidence. I used to be afraid of horses and quiet, but being around the horses helped me get more comfortable." After she had a chance to ride one, she overcame her fears. She said she can use this in her real life too.
Be free from fear, Ivy. Run to the Lord, your protector, and be brave, just as you practiced with the horses.
Lydia said, "I was able to build a connection with a horse named Patches. I felt a calmness and peace that I hadn't had before."
May Jesus be your peace wherever you go, Lydia.
Summer said that she hated her home life. "Having a place to get away was everything to me. Caring for the horses was like going to an oasis."
May Jesus continue to heal your broken heart, Summer.
This is why we all work together, Body of Christ. Thank you, friends, for caring for kids like Ivy, Lydia, and Summer.
